Victoria & Ash’s wedding will give you an insight into one of our favourite Warwickshire venues, at one of our favourite times of year.

Autumn is a perfect time to showcase the colours of the season, to represent the burnt orange tones we see in nature, and to create warmth and impact on your wedding day.

This September wedding was as perfect an autumn day that ever did exist, and I think you will agree the resulting photography was stunning.

Meadow Style Venue Design

The couple chose a meadow style to welcome their guests into the chapel at Compton Verney. This use of floral meadows, along with potted shrubs was a great mix of greenery, along with splashes of colour to compliment the overall palette of the day.

We think meadows are a great way to dress the aisle of any ceremony, as the flowers will lead the eye to the front of the space, where all the action will be happening! Every element of this aisle design was moved to the Adam Hall for the reception drinks and meal, meaning that Victoria & Ash got two uses from one design installation…albeit on this occasion with a little help from some willing groomsmen!

Autumn Bridal Bouquet

The warm sepia tones of amaranth, dahlia, pepper berry, roses, seedheads and hydrangea were framed with billowing lush green foliage. Victoria & I worked together to design a large bouquet, with lots of movement and shape.

A key focus was seasonality and colour, which we worked hard to design.

In contrast, the bridesmaids’ bouquets are made with a classic palette of whites and creams juxtaposed beautifully with the dress colours.

Reception Venue Styling

Bud Vases in complimenting tones were used to dress the banquet tables in the Adam Hall of Compton Verney. The use of bud vases in this vast space filled the room with a seamless band of colour; which when styled with candles* gives a warm intimate feel when the daylight begins to fade. Not trying to fill the space with huge table designs was key here, as it is such a vast space we could never do it justice within the budget. So, by accepting that and playing to the intimacy of the table settings we achieved an understated, yet cosy look.

*(it is worth noting that naked flames aren’t allowed in the Adam Hall. Our couples use battery candles.)

Let’s also take a moment to appreciate the groomsmen button holes. I think these are a favourite of mine for colour and variety. Buttonholes are sometimes a ticked box on the floral checklist, but we put a lot of design time in the studio to get them just right. And I think you’ll agree these autumnal buttonholes are *chef’s kiss.
